The Judgment
The Well — the town may change, the well never changes; no loss, no gain.
The Six Moving Lines
- Six at the beginningThe well is muddy; men no longer drink from it; no animals come to an old well.初六：井泥不食，旧井无禽。
- Nine in the second placeThe well contains fish only; the jug is broken; misfortune.九二：井谷射鲋，瓮敝漏。
- Nine in the third placeThe well is cleaned, but no one drinks from it; this is my heart's sorrow, for one might draw from it; if the king were clear-minded, good fortune would descend on all.九三：井渫不食，为我心恻。可用汲，王明，并受其福。
- Six in the fourth placeThe well is being lined; no blame.六四：井甃，无咎。
- Nine in the fifth placeThe well is clear, the cold spring water; one drinks from it.九五：井冽，寒泉食。
