The Judgment
Standstill — the great departs, the small approaches; perseverance of the superior man.
The Six Moving Lines
- Six at the beginningWhen ribbon grass is pulled up, the sod comes with it; each according to kind; perseverance brings good fortune and success.初六：拔茅茹，以其汇，贞吉，亨。
- Six in the second placeThey bear and endure; this means good fortune for the inferior man; the superior man bides his time.六二：包承，小人吉，大人否，亨。
- Six in the third placeThey bear shame.六三：包羞。
- Nine in the fourth placeHe who acts at the command of the highest remains without blame; those of like mind enjoy blessings.九四：有命无咎，畴离祉。
- Nine in the fifth placeThe great man is retiring; what he desires is to be right; the small man presses on.九五：休否，大人吉。其亡其亡，系于苞桑。
- Nine at the topStandstill is giving way; good fortune for the great man; the small man must withdraw.上九：倾否，先否后喜。
