Retreat — success; in what is small, perseverance furthers.
The Six Moving Lines
- Six at the beginningAt the tail of the retreat; danger; one must not undertake anything.初六：遁尾，厉，勿用有攸往。
- Six in the second placeHe holds him fast with yellow oxhide; no one can tear him loose.六二：执之用黄牛之革，莫之胜说。
- Nine in the third placeA halted retreat is strung together; this is dangerous; to keep people like servants and concubines brings good fortune.九三：系遁，有疾厉，畜臣妾吉。
- Nine in the fourth placeVoluntary retreat brings good fortune to the superior man; the inferior man is checked.九四：好遁，君子吉，小人否。
